Since recently moving i'm having to depend on the buses more now in bangkok. I've had a look at the bmta website and it provides basic information. I wondered if anyone knew of where there was some more accessible info on bangkok buses - particularly the exceptions to where they travel and their times of service - what i am particularly interested is is the ability to find out where i can travel over night ie during 24:00 and 05:00.

Ideally i'd like to specify where i want to travel from and go to and at the time i'd like to do tht and be told how i can do it, if possible, on the bus.

I can be more specific of the travel requirements i have if someone is in the know - but i would like to know more generally as well.

Cheers

If you can read Thai, I've seen some half-way decent bus guides available for sale in bookstores that do list operational hours on bus routes, although no bus guide I've run across is perhaps as comprehensive as one might like. I also don't know how up-to-date any of these guides is kept.

In another TV thread someone recommended:

Bus Route & Map

Bangkok Map Scale 1:50,000

The first comprehensive bus map ever published in town, described all the bus route in detail from beginning to the end, service time and type of bus. With the map and the bus numbers on the roads, easy to plan your trip to go around Bangkok.

Price 50 Baht

I bought it and think it´s pretty good, not all that you require but certainly a step in the right direction.

Thanks for your replies so far - will check out the map...

I have a map of bkk that has the bus numbers on certain roads but it doesnt go into enough detail for my liking.

I'm tending to find - like alot of things in thailand- you have to experience it first hand to find out what really happens and how it works - then decide what to do....

my recent move has produced more complicated travel arrange ments and i need to try some options to find out what is best - it can really be testing tough at times...

Cheers
