It looks like I need to do a 4th border bounce to Mae Sai which is against the rules as I am on an entry visa.

is anyone doing regular 14 day trips and have there been any problems doing more recently?

It is not against the rules.

The rule of maximum 90 days in a 6 month period when on visa exempt entry no longer exists since Nov. 2008.
