I am on my last stamp of my current tourist visa. My marriage process is going so slowly that I have little change to complete marriage certificate AND marriage visa application before April 16th, what with 5 holidays when offices are closed. I need a backup strategy to have more time.

(1) Would Immgr. issue another stamp now that my current visa is stamped "closed?"

(2) If not, can I apply for a new tourist visa at an Immigr. office within Thailand? Or, must I go to Vientiane? (I am staying in a NE province).

A tourist visa entry can be extended for 30 days by immigration - cost is 1,900 baht.

You extend your permission to stay not your Visa.

As said 1,900 Baht and a passport size photo needed.
