Due to a parental illness, I've been banging on to my mate to get his wife's UK Settlement Visa organised. He's put off, and put off, but now his father has taken a turn for the worse, and he needs to head back in the next 6 weeks.

Using current experience, what's the present turnaround time for Settlements?

He's in a full-time job, and I'm going to be helping him with all the preparation, that's why I'm wanting to know.

Thanks.

There is a recent thread on this - 4 weeks seems to be about average if no problem?

My wife submitted her application yesterday for a spouse visa and was told up to 3 months, but maybe as soon as 1 month.

A quick processing time for applications submitted at one time of year does not mean it will be the same for applications submitted at another; and vice versa.

Processing times are dependent purely on demand; the more applications received, the longer each one has to wait before being processed.

From previous years it appears they start to receive a large number of applications from April on, probably students applying for the next academic year, and processing times for all types of visas start to increase. Many people who applied in April last year had to wait up to three months; some more!
