Ranong Or Nong Khai?

Featured Replies

Okay, my 1 year non imm B is nearly finished on 28th April. I live and work in Phuket but I am driving up to KK, Udon this weekend for Songkran, Ususally I just cross the border to the Andaman club at ranong just before my visa finishes and I get another 3 months when I come back in. Is this the same sort of thing at the border crossing into Laos, because I already have the visa do I just need to go across then I can come straight back? I would appreciate anybody with knowledge of the process in the north to let me know what happens, the only information I can find online seems to involve visa runs to Vientienne which I don't need as I already have a valid visa. So, my option is to stop at Ronong on the drive up there or if it is easy I would prefer to do at Nong Khai. Any info much appreciated. Thanks.

Same process in Nong Khai (but no boat needed - enter Laos and return) - you might find a visit to Vientiane a nice change if never been there as there is good food and beer available and somewhat of a time capsule appearance to city I suspect (although have not been there in 35 years).

do agree

lovely bordertown good food and rfelaxed atmo.

but then I love NongKhai
