Oz Tourist Visa For My Girlfriend'S Girlfriend

My girlfriend is on a 12 month tourist visa to Oz and one of her girlfriend's who I have known for a number of years wants to come over and visit.

Can I act as her sponsor as well? Has anyone done this before? Comments please?

You can't act as her sponsor in the legal sense of the word as there is no provision under the Migration Act/Regulations for you to do so. You could provide a letter of support (many people refer to this as an invitation) however DIAC would in all likelihood attach little weight (if any) to a letter of support unless you can clearly show that at the very least a moral obligation exists to provide the support offered.

You have said that you have known her for many years. Can you prove this to DIAC? Secondly, are you supporting your girlfriends current stay in Australia?

I would suspect that she would have to do a stand alone application, providing her own funds etc...

As your girlfriend is on her second 12 month multi entry with your support, if I remember rightly that is. Your name would certainly come up on the system if you also tried to support the friends application.

My girl is on her fourth tourist visa and third 12 month visa. Her girlfriend has her own house and own money but I thought I could write a letter supporting her application stating that she could stay at my place and that I have known her for years etc and that would add some weight to her application.

Personally I cant see a problem with what you propose, bear in mind that at the end of the day it is the Embassy's decision, I guess she will just have to give it a shot...you might think about doing a Stat dec regards knowing her etc...I dont say it will add any more weight but it wouldnt hurt any either.

I cant see her having any problems then. A letter of support from you will also help.
