3 gov't employees killed in Karachi, Pakistan

KARACHI, PAKISTAN (BNO NEWS) -- Three government employees were killed on Tuesday as violence in Karachi, Pakistan continues to rise with five killings in the past 24 hours, officials said.

Two Karachi Water and Sewage Board employees and one Fire Department worker were shot dead in the Mehmoodabad area of Karachi, Pakistan's Express Tribune reported, adding that the men were collecting information for the ongoing census.

The attack occurred when two gunmen riding a motorcycle drove by and opened fire. The bodies were taken to Jinnah Hospital.

In a separate incident, a 25-year-old man was shot dead and another was injured after an unidentified gunman riding a motorcycle opened fire against a hotel in the Pehlwan Goth area of the city.

Previously, Mohajir Qaumi Movement-Haqiqi vice-chairman Akhtar Hussain and two other political activists were shot dead after visiting party leader Afaq Ahmed in Central Jail Karachi.
