Hi !

Confused over what version of Win7 to buy...I want 64bit and be able to switch between English & Thai.

Does that mean i need the Ultimate Version with 200+ languages?

Your advice would be appreciated..thanks !

If you want menus etc. in Thai you need Ultimate

Lower versions will allow you to type and read Thai documents

The operating system language or just use both languages in applications? For multi language operating system it must be Windows 7 Ultimate and Windows 7 Enterprise. But you can install a language pack to change I believe on all systems if do not need to change back. For selecting language for fill in fields Thai can be added easily.

Edit: Well Microsoft makes it sound as if you could but when you check it is fixed by the install rather than being able to change later.

Normally, or the Microsoft way you need windows 7 ultimate to have windows in a different languages. Otherwise you can use Vistalizator from http://www.froggie.sk/download.html which will allow you change the Language of Windows 7 or Vista using your desired languages.

Not true. I use Win 7 Home. Go to control panel. It's listed under "windows live language setting". Has a ton of languages you a set your system to if you need to. I don't and haven't bother using it.

What would be for changing your Windows live language settings not for changing the Windows Visita or 7 operating system.

OK, I see what you are talking about.

Please note that (unless things have changed very recently) using Vistalizator to get the alternate interface languages will cause your copy of W7 to fail the Microsoft WGA test :(

Good point, I have heard this complaint many times about Microsoft Thai choice of words for windows doesn't make sense that it is easier to use english.
