this was the question i came on to post as well - spooky... sorry to ask another question in your thread, but it is related and someone will know.

I just transferred my 3BB account from Pattaya to Hua Hin. You need to originate the transaction in the area of your new home, since they are the only ones who can tell you if they offer service at the new address. I know, that sounds fishy, since there should be some central database where customer service can verify coverage, but this is Thailand, so...

I forget for now, but I think it was a B1800 fee I had to pay to transfer the service. I also paid the tech guy who installed the cable something like B128 .. B64 for running the cable from the pole to the outside of my house, and another B64 for running the cable within my house and installing an RJ11 outlet.

Thanks for reply with your experience. I have been told of both, this is probably why. One pre arranged it, other did not. Next place has a box 120m form a 3BB node that is not near full the local office said.

so, if I move to another house in the same street (I am in Nong Hoy, Chiang Mai), is there a possibility to keep the old Premier package I started 2.5 years ago? I pay by the month, 1167 baht. I would really hate to pay 2500 for their only existing Premier package, and the standard packages, I don't really know how good they are. this one has been very reliable, and with speeds that are suitable for streaming, youtube and uploading photos. I would hate to lose it all.

(I would be tempted to buy a long cable and redirect it, I would only need 30 metres or so to bridge the gap to the new place.....)

any advice really welcome.

My guess is that a simple "move up the street" will be as easy as ... and as expensive as ... moving to another province. But, this being Thailand, I've learned to never assume. In your case, at least, the same local office probably covers both locations so you can coordinate more closely when the transfer of service will occur. I still can't recall, and can't find a receipt (I think I got one) for the transfer fee. It was B1600 or B1800, I think.

When I transfered my service across the Gulf, I kept the same grandfathered 3Mb/1Mb Premier package I had for B1,000/month.
