Anybody Been To Disneyland Hong Kong Yet?

too crowded? worth the bucks? the arrangements available these days are around 17'000 baht/person.

I'm never especially fond of places with too many chinese running around. nothing against the chinese, but they got their own culture of behaviour.

just wonder if there are hour-long queues of pushing people ... or if its a more friendly affair.

tks for any feedbacks in case -

I went last Sunday but there was a #3 Typhoon and rain sheeting down so we didn't leave the train station!

However, from talking to people who have been, it is small, waiting times of 20 mins. to half hour are normal, avoid this weekend and the next couple of weeks - Chinese holidays, but it is worth the visit. Tkt price HK$350 (Bt1,8200).

The Disney hotels are not overpriced by HK standards.

There is not much shelter, so avoid very hot or very wet days - later in Oct. should be good when humidity levels in HK come down.

Incidentally, although I bought tickets for a specific day, I was told that I can use them any time within the next 90 days, but I guess that may not be much help if you are travelling from Thailand.

One thing that seem a bit daft - if you are travelling there by train from the airport, you need to catch the airport express to Tsing Yi and then a train back from Tsing Yi, on the Tung Chung line, the airport express doesn't stop at Disney.

danone,

Perhaps you didn't realize that Hong Kong is part of China. You'll see a lot of Chinese in China. I'm surprised that you didn't know that.

If you don't want to see a lot of Chinese in Disneyland, I'd suggest Disneyland Tokyo. Then again, you'll see a lot of Japanese which, not surprisingly to anyone except you, have a culture of their own.

Are you a racist, a jingoist, or just ignorant?

hi expat - well, am I racist? am married to a lovely chinese lady. it goes without saying that chinese are not famous for their behaviour towards others not belonging to their family, meaning, chinese may indeed have an aura of roughness around them.

talk to hong kong people - since the switch back from britain to china a new roughness of character has developed in the territory.

no, I am no racist at all, but I dont want to fight for my place and be overrun in long queues. a simple point based on empiric and widely described experiences.
