Tourist Visas Renewal - Help Me Understand Right

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

I would like to have some informations about tourist visas.

I read on the forum that good times were over: no more tourist visa renewal after a double entry visa. Is that right ? Is there a chance to be able to get a single entry visa after a double entry visa by visiting a thai embassy in south-east asia ? If so which is the most linient embassy to do that ?

I have a double nationality and therefore two passports. Can I use my other passport to have a new visa or is that illegal ? (If legal, I could alternate between my two passports to stay in Thailand...)

One more question: I have to go to Burma for my second entry soon and I would like to know what time border close.

Sorry for the bad english :s

Thanks for your answers ;)

Dual passports are not illegal but changing would require air travel as you are stamped in/out on active passport and country you enter is looking for that stamp on land crossings.

Have not seen reports of one visa (double) being a problem for getting a new visa but two or more can be at some locations (but not all). Phnom Penh seems to be the easiest place currently.

So if I understand right:

I go to Thailand with passport 1, I use my two entries, then i get out the country using passport 1. Then I go inside any neighbourly countries using passport 2, I go to a thai embassy with passport 2 and ask for a visa entry. Right ?

What I have read is that trying to get several tourist visas on the same passport was not an option anymore because thai gouvernment wants to prevent people to stay indefinitly in Thailand with tourist visas... Maybe this has changed though... Anyway thans for the tip: I might give it a try in Phom Penh in three months.

If anyone has more info, I'd like to hear about it ;)
