Can someone please inform me if it is possible to study on an O visa or would I need to change my O visa to a student visa. If I have to change it can this be done at Bangkok or would I need to leave the county and return. The other question would be if I had a tourist visa can I change this to a student visa inside Thailand.

There is no such thing as a Student Visa, but a Non-Immigrant Educational Visa exists (Non-ED) which I suspect is what you are referring to. In response to your questions:

1. You can study on any type of visa.

2. You cannot convert a tourist visa to Non-ED visa.

To obtain Non-ED visa you would need paperwork from the school to take with you to embassy/consulate abroad.
