Visa Run Info!

Featured Replies

Hello all,

I know it could sound repetitive, but I couldn't find the topic that I need. So I'll explain my case here.

I'm Spanish girl, 28 years old. I came to Thailand on the 5th April and I got a stamp for 30 days. My visa will expire on the 4th of May. So, next week! :(

I'm currently doing the TEFL certificate course, which I'll finish before 13th May and I'm started doing interviews.

I would like to get a visa for 60 days at least, if is possible. I know I can get the double entry visa and at least extend my visa for 6 months more.

I would like to know:

- Which border I should go?

- By land or by plane?

- Do you recommend me to pay an "agency" or do it by my own? (I've found an agency for 7,300bath all included, is a good deal?, double entry, van, visa fees, hotel and food)

About the job, technically, the agency where I'm doing the TEFL certificate told me that the school will make me all the papers (hard to believe, but not impossible! hehe) but I would like to know (just in case), which papers I should need to claim to the school in case they start to do all the procedure.

Thanks a mil and I'm waiting for your answers, because I need to run for my visa! :)

PD: What about the border military conflicts? It is safe to go there anyway?

You can go to Laos (Vientianne) or Phnom Phen in Cambodia and get a double entry tourist visa there. There are some reports on traveling there, if you use the search function.

Land or air doesn't matter.

An agency is not necesarry, but I can't comment on if it is good deal or not. A double entry tourist visa would be 2,000 baht. So the rest would be spend on food, travel and accomodation.

The conflict is only at some parts along the border with Cambodia. You will stay well clear from those areas and have nothing to fear.
