Major flooding going on there and a lot of homes along my street have water inside. Mine is on higher ground but now touching the fence line. Streets there and I guess in Phayao are knee deep and still raining. Add to it, hail last night. Needless to say, I am glad I am not there now-70 degrees and sunshine today here in Utah.

I guess I have a bad case of BO (bad odor for those who do not understand this abbreviation) with 99 reads and no posts about the situation there in Phayao/Dok kham tai. Guess you guys up north have no flooding problems where people can not go get food because the streets are so high with water and lowing so fast. Especially those posters in the Phayao area who did not give any feedback on since my post. "Thanks for the feedback"! I have the highest piece of land along my street and almost inside the house. I can just image the other folks in the Dok kham tai area (posters here), not saying anything. Wishing those having problems the best of luck, wishes and not being there and calling all the time from the USA to family, I would have appreciated any comments from the Phayao city area.

I think it is safe to say, the stalwarts of this forum who are responsible for the majority of posts, live in Chiang Rai and not Phayao, Lamphun, Lampang. That being the case they have access to the exact same internet and TV information that you do but lack the family ties in the area which you have. Perhaps you should be the one keeping us up to date with the information you get from calls to friends and relatives in the affected area. Those who do live in Phayao may be flooded out with no internet access for all we know, thus making it difficult for them to post here.

Unfortunately, people suffering some kind of hardship is a pretty regular occurrence in our region and people do a very good job of taking it in stride. When our area floods and crops are inundated, the locals stand around, have a look and gossip for a while, then breakout the fishing gear and make the best of a bad situation.

On a more person note, you really need to work on your interpersonal skills. Petulant outbursts are never the best way to endear one's self to others.

Well put VF. But then some of us come with entitlement. ett

Yes, it's been raining heavily on and off for weeks, but I think Phayao has escaped the worst of it.... There hasn't been any bad flooding in Phayao (Ampur Muang) at all - only in the Dok Khamtai district. As I have no reason to go to Dok Khamtai, I couldn't really comment on the flooding there I'm afraid?!

I hope your house/land is OK now anyway? From what I can see here: News (Thai), or here: Blog, the flood waters have dropped to previous levels, with the 5th/6th of May being the worst.

And humble apologies for the lack of 'feedback' before now. Unfortunately, I don't have time to sit on here all day, every day.... ermm.gif

Been checking every day for news and nothing. Last video we seen was a week ago with the town of Phayao streets flooded and a short blip on Dok kham tai. Internet, nothing However, wife wife has been calling almost every day to family, sometimes getting through but no answer to her family. Hence I was looking for feedback from folks living close to Phayao city. Wife called last night and her brother who is 83, along with his wife, and daughter, had water above knee deep in their home and they we living upstairs until the water recedes. Can not get hold of another person, my wife's niece who lives by herself close to the street that is badly flooded. Places in the town are closed down and even the police department is not open because they are flooded. Family says worst flood ever in that town yet I do not see any news anywhere about it, And it is supposed to continue to rain the next few days. Thank you for your response and concerns. Peace.
