Torurist Extension

Featured Replies

Hi, A friend realised last night that he needs to extend his visa on the 8th of May which is a Sunday. Samui Immigration is now closed till Monday the 9th. Can he pop over to Ranong and get his extension at the Immigration there ? Or will he have to go out and just get 14 days.? He doesn't really want any overstay even for a day. Cheers People Dunc

If you are asking about the 30 day extension Samui Immigration should be able to do it on Monday.

If he went to Ranong he would have to leave and return to get 15 days.

There is no overstay if visit immigration on first workday after holiday. But extensions should be done a week or so early as no time is lost in so doing.

Cheers for the quick replies guys. So if he turns up at Samui Immigration on Monday the 9th will he get an overstay stamp ? Or does he have to get an extension before Monday. He is in a bit of a panic even though I have told him even a one day overstay is the most he will get and it isn't such a big deal. Cheers again Dunc

He should not get an overstay stamp. Apply for the 30 day extension as usual.

As Lop said tell him next time to go a few days early.
