fatfather Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 by David48 Sure there might be some vote buying.... There will be vote buying for sure like in every election. In Isaan it is between 200 to 300 Baht, or about 2kg pork for each household who is willing to vote what they have been told, nothing new. There also might be some more mind forming by chain rattling at the Thai Cambodian border. Last time, as soon as refugee camps had been filled the Bangkok Lobby showed up and promised peace together with handing over some presents. Make people fear and then give 'em hope... war is also a well-known tool. Redye shirts... fatfather
bitterbatter Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 I know what they will be celebrating in the USA on the 4th of July, but I wonder what they will be celebrating here. Both will offer fireworks displays.
bitterbatter Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 Abhist can use all the television airtime he can get while he has access to it. He better get out of Bangkok and campaign around Thailand.
jdinasia Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 Just think - if Thaksin's big ass ego hadn't gotten involved (with the "phone call" at the televised negotiations), we would have had elections LAST OCTOBER. Thaksin you big dumb lug you. Enjoy your Montenegro Misty Island Beverage - gonna be there for a long long time. Sorry, not true ... in March 2010 at the televised negotiations the offer was "before the end of the year". Later -- prior to the security forces clearing Ratchprasong a second offer was made for November. Still --- if either offer had been accepted, elections would have happened in 2010.
