Do you know why it is called linoleum?

It's made from linseed oil.

It used to be made with asbestos. Is it still? I remodeled a home in the USA many years ago and pulled up 3 or 4 rooms worth of linoleum all by myself without wearing a mask. It was back-breaking work and it took many days to get it all up. I found out later it contained asbestos. That was 23 years ago and I'm still alive.
