Overstaying 1 Day Type-O

Featured Replies

Hi,

I just realized that my current visa expired yesterday. I'm here on a 1 year Type O non immigrant visa based on visiting friends. Is it possible to extend this visa with 30 days like you would with a tourist visa?

I have read on here about a one time 60 day extension you can do (section 7.23) but I'm not sure if this is for people with a Thai spouse only.

Appreciate the help (:

Without having any Thai family the most you could expect from Immigration would be 7 days to leave the country.

At 1900 thb? I do have a gf of 1 year though, but nothing legal.

And is this extension still possible even though I have been overstaying for a day?

Yes. 1,900 Baht and they may want to see a ticket leaving Thailand within 7 days.

Girlfriends do not count.

The visiting friends Visa is no longer issued. Either go on a visa run or extend

Do you guys think this is enough time (a little over an hour) to get through Kuala Lumpur's immigration and then run and check myself in for the return flight?

I think it is not enough time, it all depends on things that are out of your control.

The queues at the Passport Control, the Immigration officer stamping you in, queues on the departure side of things, again passport control, security checks etc.
