If your permission to stay expires during the holiday, you will not be fined for overstay if you apply for an extension on the 18th.

Embassies in Thailand and Thai embassies abroad might also be closed. Some foreign embassies appears to be open on Friday. Check with your embassy.

wish I had read this before I thought they were open tomorrow was going, just got back from the bank with letter for extension, thanks you saved me another wasted journey anyway.

Coming Friday and Tuesday are offical public holidays. To give people an extra long weekend, the government declared Monday a day off too.

Open as usual, and I presume the banks at shopping malls too. Government is closed, banks might be closed. Department stores and the likes are open.
