May 16, 201115 yr Hi. I need to leave Thailand before the end of may and come back in to get a 60 day tourist visa. Some companies are offering this. How much is the cheapest I should be paying? Some companies have quoted me 5000 baht? I dont care where or how I do it, I just need the cheapest option. Thanks Simon
May 16, 201115 yr You can't legally get a tourist visa inside Thailand, you need to apply to a Thai embassy or consulate for a 60 day tourist visa. The cheapest option is to pay the visa fee at the consulate/embassy. I'd suggest reading the stickies above about the best place to head for.
May 16, 201115 yr I think it depends on from where you will be traveling. A tourist visa costs 1,000 baht per entry. (In local currency)
May 16, 201115 yr There is no correct answer as no two people would pay the same doing themselves and for some that way would be less than any organized trip.
May 16, 201115 yr Have you read the visa run threads in the pinned items at top of forum? They should provide a good overview of what is available at what cost.
May 16, 201115 yr Author I was too utterly lazy to do that. I was hoping someone would have some advice from personal experience. Cheers Simon
May 17, 201115 yr I was too utterly lazy to do that. I was hoping someone would have some advice from personal experience. Cheers Simon With so little info how can anyone answer ? your best to read the visa run threads.. There are big differences Where in Thailand are you ? What Passport do you have ? What type of Visa do you have now ? Without this is impossible to answer.. Some need to pay for a Visa to enter in to another Asian Country form 0 baht, 500 baht, up to 1,500 baht + the 1000 baht for the Thai Visa, [2,000 baht for a Double Visa] then there is Travel, Agents Fee, Hotel for night... [ many have said before not using an Agent often = Visa not ready for 2 days, so = 2 nights hotel. use Agent ready next day] but again depends what Country... Again how long do you wish to stay in Thailand ? Cambodia is about the best for Double entries.. 2x 60 days with 2 extensions = more or less 6 months, and so far there is no limit on how many back to back... other places if you get an extension then you will not get another 60 days, others 2 and you then get a red stamp and cannot get another TR Visa there. If you are looking to stay in Thailand and under 50, the 'ED' Visa + School Fees or the 'TR' Visa [60day Tourist] will work out the same price about 30,000+ baht per year.
