Grandparent Traveling With Grandchildren Leaving Thailand

Featured Replies

My mother is taking my daughter on vacation to Europe for 2 months while school breaks

My daughter holds dual citizenship and leaves Thailand on Thai passport and enters Europe on the other

Her Thai mother and I are divorced with me having 100% custody

We have traveled out of Thailand on numerous occasions and I always carried the birth certificate and the court ruling of 100% custody, I have been asked for it twice

Now the dilemma is that my mother will be traveling with my daughter on her own, can/should I provide her with a POA giving consent to her traveling with my daughter? Will this be enough? does it need official notarization? If so from where?

I am away on business and will not be able to come to airport to see them through immigration

Have anyone else been in same situation?

Any advice will be appreciated

Many thanks

A nice letter giving your mother permisison to travel with your child should be enough. Include a copy of the birth certificate and a signed copy of your ID-card.

Especially when your mother has the same last name as you, it should be more than enough.
