90 Day Reporting Question.

Featured Replies

Hello,

I had a one year non o visa issued at Hull which expired Dec14th 2010.

I got one last extension a couple of days before the 14th, on Malaysian border, so the date stamped in my passport for me to be finally out of Thailand was actually 11th March2011.

On 3rd March 2011 I got a further one year stay granted at Jomtien due to retirement.

My question is: Does my first 90 day report need to be done before 3rd or 11th June?

Also, I keep meaning, but keep forgetting, to say what a total pleasure it was obtaining the retirement extension.

This was due to everyone involved making things as easy and problem free as possible. (Something I am really not used to in Thailand, where things usually go pear shaped at the slightest opportunity)

Kasikorn for the letter confirming funds (10 minutes and 100 and something Baht). The Honorary Consulate at Jomtiens office for the letter confirming income (I won't comment on the cost of that as it'sout of their hands), Mr Kenyon for being very helpful when I entered immigration and finally, the immigration officers who dealt with me. A more efficient and decent bunch of officials it would be hard to find elsewhere.

Sometimes, getting older does have its advantages. J

Incidentally, due to my deciding to obtain the retirement visa not long before my exit date, I had no time to use just the 'funds in bank' way of doing things. I used a combination of funds and income, where I can confirm the funds used need no "seasoning" whatsoever, asI only had them placed in the Thai bank the day before I applied for the extension.

90 days from 3rd March.

Your TM.7 application for first extension of stay is considered the start of a new 90 day period so about 1 June. There is a 15 days before to 7 days after window for in person reporting.
