Two Czechs arrested for 2 million Euro heist

BANGKOK, May 20 -- Thailand's Immigration Police Bureau arrested two Czechs with outstanding arrest warrants from the Czech Republic and Interpol for a 2 million Euro bank cash delivery robbery in 2008.

Josef Blazek, 32, and Rudolf Tesarek, 35, were arrested at a Robinson Department Store in the eastern province of Chonburi's Sriracha district.

The two men are being held under arrest warrants from the Hradec Kralove Court and Interpol.

They robbed a cash-delivery vehicle of the Czech central bank on Jan 17, 2008 taking 3 million euros (Bt126 million) before they were arrested and sentenced to 12 years in jail. However, they jumped bail while appealing the court's verdict.

The Thai Immigration Police Bureau coordinated with Interpol and found that the two men had entered Thailand from Laos in August 2010 and successfully tracked down them through clues from contact between Mr Tesarek and his Czech wife who is three months pregnant.

His wife arrived in Thailand last Friday and made an appointment to meet him at a department store to show him an ultrasound film image of their baby.

Police initially charged the two men with overstaying in the kingdom and would extradite them to stand trial on robbery charges in the Czech Republic.

Wait a sec. Wife is 3 months pregnant over in the Czech Republic. The crim husband slipped into Thailand in August 2010. Something not quite right with this story.

Have you ever read the bible? Explains all....:jap:

The big fellow does not seem to have lost too much weight during his travels in Asia. He looks like he occupies space for 2 or 3 at the table. He could be in top man in the Thai prison cell, A good stand up finger pointing session by the police is needed to get the size into prospective.

The big fellow might lose some weight by having Thai diet.......................:jap:

"....contacted their Czech wife."

So, were they both married to the same wife? Hmmm, guess they were husbands-in-law.

His wife arrived in Thailand last Friday and made an appointment to meet him at a department store to show him an ultrasound film image of their baby.

Guess it wasn't really sure who the father was.....lol

An ultrasound film image is impossible to send via e-mail. But, if he's the producer, when did they do that?

Czech's paradise on ice......................:jap:

Usually the impossible takes me a day or two but this was a total doddle.

Where have you met his wife? At the inconvenience store? :jap:

As I recall reading on a Czech language website, one of them is either a a champion weightlifter or shot put contestant. You are right, the one guy looks bad ass. Probably no worries for him in the Thai prison. But I think their time in LOS will be short-lived. Their trouble will be in the famous Pankrac prison just outside of Prague where there are a lot of really big guys that look like him. I once saw a documentary on Czech TV about that place and I'd rather be dead than end up there!

The story is right but not the full story.

He could been out of Thailand 3 months ago or she traveled before to Thailand.

This is quite a common event and the outcome is known in the medical world as a grudge child. i.e. somebody had it in for him.
