Hi,

I am planning to sell my used car (100% paid off) to a friend of mine next month.

Since I got no clue what things I got to do – except getting the cash – I was hoping

to find some help here.

Can I download a sample contract somewhere?

Anything else I got do to?

Any tips?

Thanks a lot for your help in advance!

Surprised you have not had a reply.

When we sold the truck, my wife gave the buyers a copy of her ID and house book signed to say she had received the sum of etc, we counted the money and then gave them the book for the truck and the did the rest in there province where they lived , easy.:)

If it's in your name I guess you give your buyer a copy of your passport and copy of proof of address, I 'm sure someone will give you some better advice eventually.

You and your friend need to go to your local Dep. Land Transport Office (DLT), to complete the transfer of ownership there. You could advise your friend to seek legal assistance if he deems it necessary - money should only be exchanged after the office officials have checked the engine and serial no. You'll need a signed copy of your passport and work permit OR a certificate or letter of residence from Thai immigration or your embassy. Your friend will need the same.

There is an excellent site - driving.information.in.th - which will answer all your questions and gives the addresses of all the DLT offices.
