goatfarmer
I'm thinking of going with wife and baby to Krabi for a few days. Could anyone suggest a beach which meets the following criteria: i. not too far from the airport. Don't want to spend a whole day travelling. ii. great scenery for which Krabi is famous iii. quiet beach: nothing like built up Samui please! iv. not too primitive: walking distance to town with a few shops and restaurants, but a reasonable selection of bungalows with 24 hour electricity. Thanks!
grumpyoldman
Hat Nappharat which is adjacent to Ao Nang. You have the national park right there with great scenary and you are a skiff ride away from Railay which will be a nice daytrip

Great beach, quiet and Ao Nang has everything you might need. And definitely take the trip to Railay---more crowded but you won't regret it. Xonax
All beaches have a great scenery. Not many restaurants outside of Ao Nang, which by the way is a lot more family-oriented than Chaweng and Lamai (many resorts, restaurants and shops, but only a few bars and no bargirls). I can personally recommend Krabi Resort which is in north Ao Nang, and within walking distance to the beach road with the many shops and restaurants. Luxurious bungalows and nice rooms in the building too. In the low season all other beaches than Ao Nang wil be almost deserted.
Ricardo
I too would recommend Krabi-Resort, very-nice bungalows, except for the breakfast-buffet which we found poor.
