Msn/ Visa

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I will be applying for uk settlement visa for the wife within the next few months, over the last few nights i have been reading some of the Msn chats that we have had over the last year or so "all saved on disk"

it shows all the usual husband/wife chat that you would expect to see, some xxxx rated chat, but my worry is that there is some unhealthy political statements from us both, mainly the wife on about her

views on current affairs in thailand , should i worry about printing and sending these chats with are application ?. I dont seem to be able to delete the undesirable comments that the wife or i have talked about.

Regards

PAYNEO.

They don't need to see the contents of the chats, just that they have taken place; after all when providing evidence of phone calls applicants don't also provide a recording of the calls!

I'm not at all up to speed with MSN, don't use it: but surely you can just print out chat logs to show how often you have chatted and not the contents of the chats?

Even if you do show the chat contents, your wife's political views are of no concern to the Entry Clearance Officer (unless you are planning to blow up Parliament or similar!)

Remember that they will not accept evidence saved on disk or other electronic media as this may represent a risk of their systems being infected with a virus when viewing such media.

My gf is applying for settlement soon. I have included MSN chat logs for last 6 months. But just one page per day. They will not accept anything on disk. I would not bother printing off the full chat logs. If you do want to include the MSN logs then print just 1 page per day. That is my suggestion. Other people may have different suggestions. :)

nice one, im not that with computers how do i just print chat logs , if i print whole chat it will prob be in excess of a 1000 pages :(

hi, that is why i didnt bother printing every single line of chat. would take too long. In January 2010 my GF applied for a tourist visa and they accepted, or had no issues with me supplying just 1 page per day.

as to printing off your records. you may or may not have saved them on your computer.

go to your MSN, and tools, options, history and hopefully you will have the box ''automatically save my conversation history'' ticked. if it is not ticked then you will not have saved any chat history. in that case, i would tick it now, and supply what documents you can, and explain why you could not supply chat logs.

if you have been saving, then you go to start menu, documents, my received files, click on another box which might have your email address on, history, then you will see your chat records. you will then need to copy 1 page from each day, so you will have to get the correct page on the screen, take a screen shot, then go to paint, and edit paste and save as''whatever'' to desktop and print off. it should not take too long.
