Why Are So Many Thaivisa Posts Virtually Unreadable?

this from a thread in the Chiang Mai section:

Would you bother in even trying to read it?

Why are so many post, on Thaivisa, compared to all the other Thai forums, virtually unreadable?

I don't see this happening on any of the other thai forums, why is it only on Thaivisa?

Hello?

Thaivisa people?

Could you post a link to that post above in the CM forum? Need to verify if I see the same.

This happens often when I post, but I try to go back and fix it.

This has been happening a lot more since the forum was down for maintenance last Saturday.

Since last Friday July 3 an IE9 Security Alert appears when accessing Thai visa or changing pages. "You are about to view pages over a secure connection"

Is ThaiVisa a secure website now?

Also the website access has slowed down.

There have been issues reported with the new IE9-and be aware that it apparently ONLY works on Vista and Win 7 so if you are running XP, its not supported and that may be some of the issues.

Not sure what brings up the code tho, I wonder if people are copy pasting from a word doc?

Just checked with g and the BB code is from members copy pasting from a word document AND their editor is set to rich text editor. If you are going to copy paste from a word doc then it needs to be set to simple editor. Done from

Untick rich text editor option

I don't think that's correct.  I've never pasted anything and a few times my posts have come up like that, so I usually edit them there and then.

I've never seen it on any other of the Thai forums. Perhaps Thai visa should copy their software.

Where are you accessing from?

Which ISP?

Are you using your ISP's automatic settings or are you using a 3rd party DNS provider like Google DNS or OpenDNS?

Using firefox, from Bangkok. True Internet Co.

As far as I'm aware, it's impossible to install IE9 on XP - as you say, it's only supported by Vista and 7, and so the installer only works on those operating systems.

Afraid I don't see anything on that page (or the previous page or the following page) that looks wrong.

Everyone on this thread that has posted having issues all had their text editors set to RTE. Its now set to Simple, please let me know if the problem persists.

click on the post number and copy the link and paste it here, I still see nothing wrong on that page.

It always helps when one uses the "preview" option prior to clicking the post icon in which case you can fix it prior..

1.

Why should one have to manually 'fix' their posts because a forum can't manage itself correctly?

None of the other Thai forums have this issue, and thus are nicer to use.

2. That isn't much good when it's other people's posts that are virtually unreadable.

I partially agree, I'm constantly having to fix others posts usually due to improper quoting (read sloppy) by other members and I've never gotten the results of other forums when trying to use the quote function, it just doesn't seem to work so I quote the entire post and edit accordingly. It's quite a pain but I manage and pointed out how you can too... I do wish it were different though..

On my own note of complaint: Lately when I get a notification of a response to a quote it takes me to totally unrelated quotes of other members or no related quote what-so-ever and sometimes the top of the page that supposedly relates to the quote.. I reasoned that some responding quotes may have been deleted and no longer exist while the notification still does but that hasn't been uniform and doesn't apply in all cases where searching through the thread finally reveals the quote in question..
