Wrong Time For Yingluck To Seek Meeting With Thai Army Commander Prayuth: Army Spokesman

Find me a single Thais who does not know and believe that the army exerts political power. Being a Thai General is to eat with a golden spoon, no wonder Thailand has more generals than any other nation. Any political party that tries to remove that golden spoon will not survive.

I think you need to look at the number of generals on the PTP books.

Thaksin didn't want to reduce the power of the military. He wanted to control that power. That's why he appointed his relatives into top positions.

You are missing the point, it is not whether Thaksin or the Dems, or anyone else was Doctor Frankenstein, it is that Frankenstein's monster is out of control.

Exactly. I wouldn't cast any political party in the role of Frankenstein. As I have been told a few times recently, the army does not pledge allegiance to the government.

Keep your distance all of you, we want nothing to do with any side, fight it out amongst yourselves.

Yep, but still interesting, if not enlightening that it wasn't Noppadon, Nattawut, Newin, Silpa-Archa, Suwit or Abhisit, but her....

If you give enough money to some people then there is a good chance that they will shift their allegiance to you. It's what corporations do in hiring people (and in particular headhunting talented and experienced people from rival corporations).

Army chief willing to meet Yingluck after election day

By The Nation

Army chief General Prayuth Chan-ocha on Wednesday said he was willing to meet with Pheu Thai candidate Yingluck Shinawatra at an appropriate time, preferably after the July 3 vote.

"I thank Khun Yingluck for trying to meet and seek my advice but our meeting should take place at the right time," he said.

Prayuth said he was ready to talk to all sides as he was concerned about the political situation after election day, hinting at the tight race to form the next government.

The army chief was responding to reports that Yingluck, the no 1 party list candidate, is seeking to meet him to talk about the current political situation. If Pheu Thai wins a majority in the general election on July 3, she will be Thailand's first female prime minister.

Army spokesman Col Sansern Kaewkamnerd earlier said it was the wrong time for Yingluck to seek a meeting with Prayuth.

Thailand is in the middle of an election campaign and Gen Prayuth is a government officer so he will certainly be criticised of not being neutral if he were seen meeting with Yingluck, Sansern said.
