Re-Entry With Re-Entry Permit

Featured Replies

The Re-Entry Permit advice is on "TV" is very useful. However it concludes with the statement:-

"Please remember when arriving back into Thailand to note the re-entry permit number on the Immigration arrival card (TM-card), and check that you are stamped in correctly."

but does not explain what constitutes "correctly".

Am I correct in assuming that you should just get an entry date stamp (checking that it is not a stamp with a "valid until date") ?

It means you should check that you receive the corret number of days (the date till your permission to stay expires) and not for instance only 30 days because they think you are on a visa exempt entry.

Clearly noting the re-entry permit number on the arrrival card helps preventing mistakes like this, but is never 100%.

I have just obtained my 1 year retirement extension, permitted to stay until 9 July 2012 . Is that the date that should appear on the entry stamp when I return to Thailand from the UK in October?
