King improving

By The Nation on Sunday

His Majesty the King's heath has improved with strong muscles and with the normal eye test result, the Bureau of Royal Household announced yesterday.

The bureau said that the team of royal physicians' examination found that his general condition was good, while his body temperature, blood pressure, heartbeats and respiration were normal.

My heart felt prayers continue to go out to his Majesty. There are just no words to properly express thankfulness for his the love and lifelong dedication to Thailand and its people. I'm not Thai but for me it is impossible to not love, respect and admire this him.

There is a take away from the report as the eye exam found the beginnings of a cataract. This is not unusual in the elderly and can be addressed, but you need an eye exam first. . The take away is that the eye pressure was verified as well (glaucoma screening). Glaucoma occurs in older people and the only way to identify the condition before it causes damage is to have the simple eye pressure test. Hopefully, the report of the eye exam encourages/reminds people to visit the opthamologist.

I had wondered why specific details were given in past news releases. And then I realized that folks do pay attention. I have to admire the low key manner used to encourage people to consider the exams referenced. I'm sure someone will raise the news report at some dinner table in Thailand and suggest to mum or dad to have an eye exam. It's leading by example and one that will prevent unnecessary blindness too.
