Unfortunately this time I'm not looking for advises for a friend or a colleague. I have a growing need to get rid of a few extra pounds. 10 to 20 would be a good start, 30 would be fantastic. And if I can pick up a couple of good healthy habits for next year, that would be great.

I may spare two weeks this summer to join some kind of fitness camp, is there any place you could recommend ?

For people in search of a business opportunity, maybe it's something you can look into. I know a lot of overworked, overstressed, overweight executives who could be interested by this kind of services. But in this case it has to be really first class.

Hi 'JurgenG' Firstly, sorry I don't know of any such 'fitness camps' in the CM area.

I'm replying to your topic to just say 'good for you' in wanting to lose weight and will feel better, be healthier and be able todeal with stress far better.

You mention you wish to try and adopt some healthy habits for next year, next year? You know the saying; 'today is the first day of therest of your life'.

It's not my intention to sound rude or disrespectful but your post smacks of someone wanting all the benefits of not being overweight without the responsibility of getting there. Even if you find a fitness camp, (that you can hand responsibility for your weight lose too) what you lose, will be back in the blink of an eye, you have to make life style changes.

The know how in weight loss is so easy; doing it is the hard part. Picking up good habits…No, it's more about losing bad ones. You're a big boy now, (no pun intended) you know what a bad habit is, and you know what you have to do………….Eat better, More offen, but smaller meals, fruit, veg, white meat, fish, 5 or 6 small meals a day, (keeps the body's metabolism fired up) DO NOT STARVE YOURSELF. Stay of the vino and carbonated drinks, Tip; drink Ice cold water a few times a day, (not with meals) the body has to burn extra calories to heat the water, it's can mean upto 5000 Cal a years, extra burnt off.

As for fitness, sorry I can't give you any tips, I don't know you, your age or your history, all I will say is, best get a medical before you start. As far as excises go's remember this; you are your own worst obstacle to reaching your fitness goals, the fact is' 'the mind leads and the body will follows'. One last thing, don't make the mistake that you have tospend money to lose weight and get fit. Just burn more Calories than you eat, and excises.

Good luck.

A two week "fitness boot camp" is not the way to go....you need to change your life style, both diet and moderate excercise over a longer term to see a benefit, and typically you need to be two months in before you start seeing any real benefits....all you are going to do in two weeks is maybe loose water weight....

Nobody can do this for you except yourself, agree with all of "Tonto's 21's" comments above
