We plan visiting Phuket around Nov end and hv done research on the net for a decent hotel close to a golf course/driving rane, but havent had much luck. Wud appreciate advise on hotels with closeby golf spots..Cheers

Actually wudnt mind either..checked the net and saw some exorbitant prices for Phuket..perhaps Pattaya..which wud u reommend? Also cud u let me know the hotel names too.Tks

I'm not sure about Pattaya - you could post this in the Pattaya forum - but for Phuket nothing is more than an hours drive away from anything else, so you can pick a hotel that suits your tastes and get a taxi to play golf.

Patong is quite popular but not suitable for some families, depending on how broadminded you are.

Kata is a great place, cheap and central, Cheaper accomm can be had in Karon but it's a bit lousy IMHO.

Rawai is good, stay out of Phuket town, it's really up to you.

If the prices for golf in Phuket put you off then Pattaya is the place for you. Check out Pattaya Sports Club for discount golf at many courses. Check out the sports section of The Pattaya Mail newspaper lists many bars with regular golf groups. 15+ golf courses around Pattaya at 1/2 the price of Phukets 4 links.
