Temporary measures to prevent further erosion of Pattaya Beach

PATTAYA: -- Temporary measures are being taken to slow the rate of erosion at the North end of Pattaya Beach. Khun Wirawat, Deputy Mayor of Pattaya and a team of over 250 city workers were involved in taking sand form further down the beach and placing sandbags along the affected area which, it is hoped, will provide temporary protection against the sea.

Pretty hard to stop a natural process like beach sand erosion unless one can stop the orbit of the moon around the earth and hence the ocean tides...however, pretty funny watching a bunch of befuddled Pattaya city officials running about with a back-hoe along the beach trying to fight Mother Nature

Only proven way of stopping it is with a series of groynes built out at whatever degree is best to alter the flow of the tides enough to create an environment where the sand remains/returns

Good photo op. for City Hall, though. And a way of distracting from the jet ski scam just down the beach from them :D
