Early Repayment Fees Abolished?

Featured Replies

A colleague of mine mentioned today that all early repayment fees on loans in Thailand have been abolished. My wife has a small home loan (I am the guarantor) with Bkk Bank of about 30% of the purchase price and I remember there was a 3% fee mentioned if the loan was paid off within the first 3yrs. We are now 2yrs into a 10yr contract and I'd like to pay off the full amount but am waiting until next year to do so, if the early repayment fee is not applicable anymore then I will pay it off now.

Has anyone heard anything about this?

Thanks in advance

You can pay off using your own money at any time (versus refinancing with another bank) and there are no penalty fees.
