Hi,

My girlfriend and her daughter will visit The Netherlands in a couple of weeks. My girlfirend will go to Bangkok to get her passport renewed first, wait a couple of days to get it, and then apply for the visa at the Dutch consulate. Last 5 visas all went smooth and last year she took her daughter with her, also without any problem. However, I don't like my daughter accompanying my girlfirend to Bangkok and stay there for a few days, so shortly after the elections and possible violence on the streets. Does the (8yr old) daughter have to join my girfriend to Bangkok to apply for the visa in person or can she stay home? Tried calling the consulate, but they refer to the website or sending an email, which I did. But I would like to know quickly, so we can plan flights to Bangkok.

Thank you!
