Election

Featured Replies

Anyone want to speculate on whether Puea Thai Party can resist a split,

and no-confidence motion, for a whole year?

With villagers being paid 500 bht per person in Muang Chiang Rai and those in Korat getting 300 bht for the vote, I dont think it makes any difference to them what happens, as long as they get some free money !! Sad Day for Thailand if that Toxic mess gets back in . :(

I just love when my wife says the word "election".

I took the wife, her parents and aunt to vote. There was no electioneering at or near the polling place. Nor was there anyone there offering any money to vote one way or another. Things appeared very much on the up and up, to me.

But, no, I would not speculate here on the future concerning this thing.

It'll be fine, the Farang pundits will go on about how stupid the Thais are and what a wonderful government has been voted out of power but it won't make much difference to us.

I survived the dreadful Thaksin reign of terror and I dare say I'll survive the next one.

The real simpletons in this case are the foreigners who suddenly became experts in Thai politics.

Anyone knows who is the new governor? I hope Not the man on list 16. Two weeks lots of noise with his campain circus every morning at 7:30.

No chance. 16 was Bhum Jai Thai. They were the only vote buyers here , but I think they lost 50% of their seats and will definitely NOT be in the Govt. . So, you may sleep in peace .I give you a 100 % guarantee, it will not be him.

Wanchai Chongsuthanamani (Nbr 16 dude) lost to Samart Kaewmechai (Nbr 1 dude from Phua Thai).

It's going to be a bad day for the loooosers.

or a whole week ? :(

A cricket match can go for a whole week. That sdometimes seems like a lifetime

Well, I have to say I'm very dis-heartened by it all. No-one offered to buy my wife's vote! Not one satang! If they had offered, she would have gladly taken their money and then voted for whoever she was going to vote for in the first place.

I suspect thats what most people do. take the money and then vote for who they want to anyway.

Seems to be going down ok with the real powers that be. so I guess we have an attractive PM for a while. :)

Indeed, there seems to be a lot of talk about vote buying in the North and North East. It would surprise me if Peua Thai needed to buy votes in those regions.
