We asked about Animal Quarantine Requirements in the General Topics Section

and got mainly answers regarding cats.

We will be entering Thailand with two small house dogs - and would like to hear

others experiences with Quarantine Regulations at the airport.

Any information or experiences would be most appreciated.

By the way, we are coming from the USA.

Thank you.

As far as I am aware the requirements for dogs are thay they will have to have certificates confirming that they have had a rabies vaccination within the last 12 months.

They will also need a Veterinary health certificate which must have been issued within 10 days of them arriving in Thailand.

It is also suggested that the dogs should be shown as excess baggage..otherwise you may have to pay import duty and tax.

Hi Retired 2.

I moved here 12 months ago and brought my 3dogs with me from the UK. What Pattaya Fox has said is correct I can't tell you about excess baggage as I could not do this as I have a Great Dane, Irish Wolfhound and a Mad Collie (to much weight!!). :o

I had to pay the import duty and tax which was very steep (but worth every penny) On one of the forms you will have to fill in it ask's where are you going to quarantine your dogs? put 'AT HOME' this is fine and acceptable and should alleviate your worries. Can't see you having any other problems.
