Cambodia Border Loop For Visa

Featured Replies

Just wondering what is the status for looping the border at Cambodia? I will be starting from near Suvarnabhumi and have been going to Nong Khai, but Cambodia seems a lot closer. Would be traveling by bus most likely. There is a bus station at Suvarnabhumi but don't know if they run to the border or what. Any suggestions on where to catch the bus and which destination would allow me to cross the border for 5 minutes and come back into Thailand? Thanks in advance for all help offered.

Just had an afterthought that I might rent a car since the trip should be easy to complete in one day, albeit a long one. Thanks again for any suggetions provided.

You are aware there is daily service by several companies departing from Bangkok all inclusive for about 2k?

Believe any of the official border crossings can be used.

Including the Cambodia visa? How much is the Cambodia visa? Just checked and it says $20. The Lao visa is like 1600. Who are the companies, please, and how do I contact them? Are they using wild drivers in bad busses or reasonably safe? Thanks so much for the quick response.

Includes everything. Newspapers have advertising in classified section and you can search here and Google. Don't have any personal experience but they run every day and have not seen any reports of major accidents. If I tried to list it would likely not be complete and hurt some feelings.

For myself I would take the airport link to PhayaThai and then walk (or taxi) to Victory Monument. From there pick up a minibus. Less than B300. On the border, buy a Cambo visa with a crisp US20.

If you want to go to Lao, take the link to Makassan and switch to MRT get off end of line Hualalampong. Buy a ticket to NongKhai in whatever class you can. Depending on your needs and that day availability. You may prefer AC chair to fan sleeper (?). Arrive Nong Khai - Last ime I was there there, the rian goes right through to Lao but it may very well be faster to DIY. B30 to the border share samlor, B20 minibus to Lao. US35US!! for MOST nationalities. If you are going on to VNE go trough all the touts and head for a silver/blue minivan (packed) or ask about for share samlor going into town B50. You will be dropped @ Talat Sao. All in about B750 + visa.
