Thanks looks like I have been looking for the wrong stuff

Depends what you mean by membrane and its purpose, are looking for water-proofing or insulation? If insulation - the earlier post gives you the material, if water-proofing then you need to look further.

The insulation pictured in the post ofLangsuan man is 100% waterproof.

Edit : I looked at the picture again and it might be the insulation which is sold by Homemart and is not waterproof, however they sell a similar looking product at Homeworks which is 100% waterproof.

Provided the overlap is sufficient and / or tapped and there aren't any cut-outs for structural purposes etc etc etc.

Sika has a 30cm roll 10 meters long to waterpoof the top tiles of the roof. Excellent stuff, especially building Thai style roofs, find it better than CPACs solution

membranes are not commonly used in TH, but the foil pictured above works ok

PU foam is another used solution, but the water leaking from tiles must be trapped in the steel stucture and foam, so just waiting for the first foamed roofs to fall down
