My Australian passport expires the same time as I need to apply for my next Thai non immigration extension. What are the guide lines when making a passport renewal in Bangkok. Thanks.

Australian Passports

The Consular Services Section accepts applications for Australian passports. Standard processing time for an Australian passport is 10 working days once the application has been lodged at the Embassy. Applicants must lodge their Australian Passport application in person at the Embassy. Applications are not accepted by post.

I have done it twice at the Embassy., but a long time ago. From memory ,you have to get an application form from the Embassy, in Sathorn. Fill that in, pay a lot ,lodge it ,and your passport will come back.. There is a requirement for a certain "class" of person to certify you AND your photos. Those kinds of people (occupations acceptable, that is) are listed on the application form. The lady who was responsible was lovely and very helpful, but sadly ,has since retired.Passports would have to be the most expensive "books" in the world. But not a difficult process

I got my new 64 page pass/p at the embassy.they unlike oz where very nice ,took old passport in they asked for mother's madien name ,said wait 10 min.. later came back whith the form fill out with main details in it already ..only had to fill out remainder,if you have everything with you thats needed you can do it then and there...then wait for the 10 days, take 2 sets of photos from different shops my first photos from a good shop would not scan, they rang me within 2 hrs of putting them in to tell me.i was nearly in pattaya,i went to another shop and sent them in express mail.[signed]they got them next day,

and again very nice to me.you can pay cash, and when you go anywhere take old and new passport, extra photos and photo copys of your old passprt, front page and entry, visa.when i did my visa run i needed to do this an took an extra 15 min, while that copied old details to new.
