Jai Dee Posted October 22, 2005 Share Posted October 22, 2005 BMA ORDERED ALL DISTRICTS TO MONITOR AGAINST BIRD FLU OCCURENCE The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) has ordered all district offices to monitor their respective areas for possible occurrence of bird flu disease in the capital. Bangkok Governor Aphirak Kosayothin (อภิรักษ์ โกษะโยธิน) said the bird flu issue may return and become an important public health issue once again. Thus, the BMA has designated control and prevention measures to protect against the occurrence of an outbreak. The district offices have been told to gather information regarding the poultry in each district. They have been assigned to coordinate with community leaders and public health volunteers in monitoring abnormal deaths of avian. People are also asked to report deaths of avian in their vicinities in order for officials to foster rapid inspection. Furthermore, all district offices have been told to report on their surveys of avian and avian deaths every Friday at the BMA's operations center.
