Red Alert ... red alert farang dissatisfied with $10 steak.

Call in the vice and fraud squads, maybe the tourist police and Knocked up Abroad TV folks. Pattaya is going to hell again.

What has the price of a steak in your country have to do with this? The op is staying in Thailand and paying with Baht. :ermm:

And IMO 300 Baht is a cosiderable amount.

Sob, guess it sucks to be you. How is the English teaching going?

I have no idea. Ask someone who is working, I'm financially independent. B)

Ok, great to be you. Financially independent and considering 300 baht to be a considerable amount.

Note to self, please do not become "financially independent."

Don't worry, you won't.

I don't consider 300 baht "considerable" so by your scale or frame of reference I am way above your definition of "financially independent."

You might need to think about your next relocation, perhaps Somalia or Gambia will be more suitable for your dire finical independence.

It is possible to get a reasonable steak for about 150 baht at the restaurant on the ground floor of Big C Extra in Pattaya. I eat there about three times a week and the food is excellent. Will not name the restaurant however it has a Spanish name.

Reasonable compared to what, road kill?

JH

I agree. It's not what I could call reasonable steak. It's razor thin and beaten out with a mallet. If you consider how much you're actually getting it's quite expensive too.

Well, lucky you.

Yes, that is just perfect for Semper. He can be financially independent there for sure and pick up a few dependents as well.

i would seriously doubt the financial astuteness of anyone who considers it ok to pay for 300 baht for an inedible steak where there a loads of places to get an edible steak for about half the price... although i'm sure your culinary imagination is not outside your local 'plastic' english/irish pubs such as Shenanigans etc etc...

I never said it was ok to pay for bad service/quality when you are purchasing good service/quality. Please, don't try and convince anyone that place and the meals served there are high quality.

I thought then (and still do since you are obviously so sensitive about it) that it was/is hilarious for any farang to be so indignant about getting burned at a cheap Pattaya restaurant on a less than $10 steak and showing his indignation by broadcasting an alarm to Thaivisa with emphasis "just last night!!" My Buddah ... double exclamation marks!!

The horror.

As far as financial astuteness, if you seriously think 300 baht is a considerable amount then you need to find a better paying gig or ask mommy/daddy for a bigger allowance.

You are still going on about $10. Get used to the Baht currency.

I suppose any steak is edible if you've got the patience to chew long enough, but there are not loads of places with steaks for 150 baht that I'd care to eat.. in fact there are none.

You sound as silly as Bill. His OP was way over the top. If you can't see that you might try and get out more.

Have you ever been hungry? I mean really hungry.

vpi... after reading each one of your posts you only come across as more un-educated and ignorant after each one.... you sound like a typical 1 million baht millionaire ... just read you warbling about asking mommy and daddy for extra allowance :whistling: errr most posters here out of that phase but actually you sound like the exact tool doing a gap year as you sound too immature to actually function in the real world :jap:

Totaly agree,i didnt think they let school kids on here.If the restaraunt is offering steaks at that price it should edible,if not it should be stuck right up the chefs jaxy, nothing to do with being a steak wannabee

Yes, you seem as mature as Bill yourself, perhaps a wee bit more as you do not feel the need to use cartoon emoticons to try and make your point. Spelling and grammar, however, is not a strong suit of yours.

But do you seriously think they have a "Chef" at these places?
