July 28, 201115 yr I have searched and read the forum and not got any answers. I understand there isn't a set amount needed but has anyone got any previous experiences? Would 6000 USD be enough for a 2 week holiday if staying with family member gratis? Flights and car hire paid already. Thanks
July 28, 201115 yr as you said there is no minimum. 6000USD in the bank would be relative to your spensing habits. provide a breakdown of costs - ie shopping, eating out, petrol, as long as the sponsor can show they have enough money to financially support the applicant, that is all that is needed for me, 6000USD would be ok to show
July 28, 201115 yr As said, there is no minimum; merely that the visitor has sufficient funds available to cover the costs of the visit without working or claiming public funds. The actual amount will depend on many factors; including, but not exclusive to, where they will be staying and the length of the visit. For example, someone staying with friends or family will obviously need less than someone staying in hotels. The funds can come from the applicant, their sponsor (if they have one), a third party or any combination of these. Anyone who is providing finance for the visit must provide evidence that they have the funds to do so, e.g bank statements and/or pay slips.
July 29, 201115 yr I made a full breakdown of approx costs and the visa was approved, my wife had about 100,000 in the bank and I had 150,000, we stayed at my mums, and had free tickets to major attractions in London.
July 29, 201115 yr make sure the person you are sponsering has return air tickets. As long as they can meet the cost of the onward journey this is not a requirement however I would advise anyone to have a valid return ticket.
