AIRLINE SPECIAL: Extra flight free

American tourists who buy a ticket from New York to Bangkok or Beijing will receive a free ticket for the Bangkok-Beijing connection under a new promotion by Thai Airways International Plc and United Airlines.

The campaign is intended to attract more long-haul tourists to Thailand and China. The initiative was launched after Pracha Maleenont, the tourism and sports minister, returned from discussions with the China National Tourism Agency last week.

Visitors from China arriving at Bangkok International Airport between January and August grew 4.7 per cent to 432,308 from the same period last year, making China the second-largest source of tourists for so far this year.
