What exactly is an extension of stay stamp?

My last visa was a double entry tourist visa.

On my last (soon to expire) visa I stayed 60 days and then went to the CM immigration office and got a 30-day renewal.

Is this what they're talking about? Will I not be able to get a new visa?

That was an extension of stay for 30 days you received from Immigration.
