doingok
hi guys after planing our stay in koh samui i am thinking again as i have heard that koh samui is expensive place to stay, we are after a nice beach and a sea we can swim in, any advise would be great.i have read that it is boring after 4 day in Chumphon so thats what got my thinking about here, no girly bars, no tourist trap, and i have to say the pic of the beaches look great and snorkeling to. so prices on renting something ok nothing flash, 1 bedroom, kitchen, scooter rental or by one as they 6 months close as possible to the beach. Cheers guy paul
Gonsalviz
Lots of bungalows for rent near the beach. I forget the name of the beach but it is not Chumpon beach. Can't name names but there are plenty of places.
sscsamui
I spent 3 Months at Thungwuallaen Beach... It's about 20 minutes outside Chomphom city There are lots of Bungalows and houses to rent and the Beach is Very nice and clean... There are also some good restaurants. The baht bus goes to Chomphon city and is 30 baht and you can rent motor bikes there as well... It is Much nicer than Samui.. I live on Samui for 19 years... Go there and Enjoy

No girlie bars. No Tesco, BigC, Makro, so must shop from local stores at higher prices. Restaurants and bars and hotels are the same prices as Samui. No taxis, but a friend of mine got scammed renting a bike. Nice for a weekend holiday for me.

For me it's very close on Samui as I live in Chaweng. I compared Thung Wua Laen Beach vs. Chaweng beach. Nice for a short holiday, recommended.
