Hi there,

I have a plan. I have saved up a decent amount of money and would like to live in Thailand for the UK Winter. I think either Bangkok or Pattaya, maybe Chang Mai?

I would like to stay 3 or so months, maybe longer depends on money and how I enjoy it. However I will be alone. I think maybe Id also get bored?

Therefore I was hoping somehow there is expats football/soccer players or teams I could join. But the thing is Im only average at football so it cant be anything to serious just for fun. Id play 7 days a week though if I could. I also play pool , poker, badminton and ok at golf if that is any use, though not so much at golf and not got golf clubs in Thailand obviously.

I also thought another way to kill time/meet people would be English teaching but Im not that sure I want to do it or if I can do it. I have a degree but no teaching experience. It could be fun a few hours per week. Then again maybe I'll meet only weirdos you hear off in the papers (always English teachers in Thailand lol) or annoying people so I don't know about that?

Well I could just stay for 3 months and rent an apartment but with no freinds and stuff I dont know? Maybe id get robbed or set up also lol..If Im alone with no back up, is it even safe? Plus I dont know if I could trust many dudes in Thailand when I read so many drug, sex or theft stories....I think joining a football team or ex-pats etc seems a safe bet though?

Well what else am I going to do for 3 or so months? I dont want to keep travelling alone?

ANy advice and thoughts on this?

My ideal plan would be:

Arrive Thailand- party/travel 2-3 weeks. Settle down 2-3 months....party/travel 2-4 weeks....go home....

Cheers

Sounds like the best option to me.
