Why Hasn'T This Been Done?

Featured Replies

Please no flame and defamation of the thai brain, i have enough of my own opinions on this. I want facts :)

Why hasnt the police started fining small all the thais illegaly parked in major places in bangkok-chiangmai,pattaya and phuket? blocking traffic in front of major shopping malls especially?

The #1 problem with thailand is corruption. Well if you paid police officers correctly they wouldnt need to be for the most part right? Then if they gave small fines left and right everyday, they'd have enough money to pay them 50k baht per day for even the lowest officer?

There's at least 100 to 200 different cars parked in front of central everyday, 10-20k per day in profit just there.

Anyone knows if this has been discussed in thai forums/newspapers/governement house and dropped down because of some non-sense reason? Fining illegal vendors, fining restaurant who build onto the street etc etc. Easy 100-500bahts and those people can afford it.

no parking at the police station thats why... ppl who go to pay fines or other activity in the police station have nowhere to park... my guesss is most of them cars will be ppl working inside... they have a small carpark which is always full

I've thought about that myself.

If the cops actually enforced the laws and issued and collected real fines then there would be so much more money in the coffers that they would all be able to have a decent wage rather than a few collecting a few extra Baht in 'tea money'.

On the other hand if they actually started enforcing the law then the incidences of violations would drastically decrease thereby cutting the decent income and also eliminating the source of 'tea money'.

i dont think the police chiefs who earn anything upto 1-2 million USD a year would like this idea

Why do you think members of this forum would have any answers to your question. I think they couldn't care less.

I mean we have far more important things to be concerned of. Like where are the best burgers, pizzas etc.
