Thinking that a year studying in a school away from Bangkok may be a nice thing to do.

I've thought about doing this in Isaan. Downside would be a lot of Isaan spoken. Upside would be the people, the prices, the girls and the food. Oh and I almost forgot - I've heard the ladies are quite nice too.
