Renewing Ed Visa After 90 Days?

Featured Replies

Information about me: I have Icelandic nationality, I'm 24 years old male. I have Non-Immigrant visa, type ED. I go to thai language school. (this school: http://www.tls-bangkok.com/)

I have been in Thailand for 3 months on this visa. This is my first ED visa.

I have to go to Immigration (Chaeng Wattana) before my visa expires (11th September) to get a 90 day extension/report/notification/renew(?) Or because this is my first ED visa it´s only valid for 90 days and I will get a new ED visa after this trip to Immigration. I´m confused.

My question is what form do I need to fill? And what copies do I need to show? I already have the documents from my school.

Do I need to go 7-10 days before 11th September or can I show up 1-3 days before my visa expires?

I don´t know what more I can add. I hope all the important information about my situation is there.

Thank you for reading.

You need to fill out TM.7 extension of stay (90 days). You can download and print or just fill out at immigration. One photo 4x6cm will be required for TM.7 and fee of 1,900 baht (copies of passport data/visa/entry and departure card) and school paperwork. Next time you will also have to supply TM.47 address report if you remain in Thailand more than 90 days.

I would advise doing about a week early just in case something wrong with school paperwork you have more time to correct it.

Remember it is your permitted to stay stamp date that is important - not your visa validity.

I'm surprised your school didn't prepare all the paperwork for you, including photos of yourself.

(i.e telling you what photos you need and put it all in an envelope and send you off)
